MY EXPERIENCE WITH HAIR HIGHLIGHTS.

Today I am going to talk about my personal experience with highlighting my hair. 

So let's get started. 

Highlights are an amazing way of giving your looks a subtle change. 

However, highlighting your hair has some PROS AND CONS. I will start with that. 

PROS : Highlights give you a whole new transformative and a trendy look. 

It tends to boost up your personality and give you a lot of confidence. 

Being daring and taking chances, like choosing a different and unique shade for your hair. 

CONS : The process of highlighting your hair might damage your hair. Drying it out because of the use of bleaching. 

The highlights eventually keep fading with the exposure to the Sun. 

It's harmful to your highlights if you are using Holi colours or even swimming in a pool. Chemicals like Chlorine is really harmful.

Coming to my experience with the highlights. 

I always had long hair and as highlights are always in trend, I decided to get it done. It definitely added a whole new subtle look to my hair. But I soon realised that my hair started being a lot frizzer and the colour somehow dried my hair out. Yes, monthly hair spas did help me a bit but not totally. 

Highlights do come with a lot of maintainance, like expensive colour protection shampoos, conditioners and masks. Also, colour touch ups too often if you decide not to get rid of the hair highlights after your original hair starts showing up from your roots. 

TIP : You can help your hair by oiling it like once or twice a week, which I have started doing recently as I am home all day because of the lockdown! 

However, if you really want to get your highlights done, it's absolutely your choice. But always, do the research properly before getting it done. Consult your hair stylist and they might be able to give you the best advices!
